CIRCLEVILLE – Main Street will get a new surface next year according to documents set in front of council last week, but this will not be without cost to the city.

According to Director of Public Service Terry Frazier ODOT will pave Main Street from Island Road though historical downtown Circleville to the Lancaster Pike intersection on the east side of town.

Frazier stated that there will be some local funds that will have to be allocated towards the project, including curb ramps, catch basins, and other structures that have to be taken care of prior to the paving, but the resurfacing costs will not comes from Circleville.

Costs to replace items along that corridor would cost the city estimated cost around 150,000 dollars that would come from the street repair budget for 2021.

More information will come out on total costs, and Circleville City Council will have to approve the improvements before ODOT can move forward.
