Columbus Officer Jaw Broken by Suspect After Responding to Call

COLUMBUS – Columbus Police department is reporting one of their officers is out on an injury after responding to a call and being attacked.

The attack was captured on video when police responded to a call of a threatening individual in the North Grant Ave Faith Mission Homeless shelter.

In the video, you can watch as the officer pull up in a police van and Officer Mott’s steps out to speak to the suspect in the situation. The suspect drops his bag and then starts a violent attack, two punches to the face breaks the officer’s jaw and the man runs.

Second officer Officer Clanin who was driver of the vehicle meets the suspect on the other side of the van where the suspect attacks him by throwing him into the van.

Mott’s is able to pull his tazer and deploy it on the suspect.

Noah Andrews is charged with Assault on a police officer.

Officer Motts will be out on medical leave for several months to heal from that attack.
