WALNUT TOWNSHIP — Two drivers and a child were injured following a head-on crash Thursday morning in rural Pickaway County, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:17 a.m. on April 9 along Walnut Creek Pike near 13788 Walnut Creek Road. Authorities say a southbound Ford F-150 driven by 49-year-old Cecil Garey of Ashville crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 50-year-old Kari Crum of Lockbourne.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. The roadway was closed for about 30 minutes while crews worked to clear the crash.

Garey and Crum were transported by Medivac to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for further evaluation. A 5-year-old passenger in Garey’s vehicle was also injured and taken by Circleville EMS to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Investigators reported that the crash occurred in clear weather on a dry roadway. The contributing factor listed in the crash report indicates the southbound vehicle traveled left of center prior to impact.

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
