ROSS – A major crash has shut down US-35 West beyond SR-159 around 8:45 pm involving a total of six vehicles.

According to dispatch six vehicles, including an OSP vehicle collided, and one man unconscious behind the wheel. The injured man was the one that hit the OSP vehicle in the rear.

Details are still being worked out at this time but apparently, a two-vehicle accident occurred previous to the OSP vehicle being hit. The OSP Trooper had responded to a two-vehicle accident. Several other vehicles had previously stopped at the accident also. The red truck rear-ended the OSP vehicle with its lights causing a secondary crash that involved the other stopped vehicles.

The red truck driver was the only major injury in the crash, he was transported to the local emergency hospital. The Trooper was not in his vehicle during the crash.

According to a witness on the scene, a dog was in the vehicle of the injured driver. He smashed the window when the cab had filled with smoke and got both the injured driver and the dog out.

Ross Sheriff was reported that the bridge was extremely slippery and may have been a factor in the crash. In total six vehicles were involved. The accident shut down the route for about 3 hours. The crash is still under investigation.
