SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Two drivers were hospitalized Thursday afternoon following a wrong-way, head-on collision on U.S. 23 in Ross County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2026, on U.S. 23 near the exit ramp for State Route 159.

Troopers said Kiyah McManus, 21, of Circleville, was driving a 2015 Kia Soul northbound on the SR 159 exit ramp, traveling in the wrong direction. At the same time, Logan Spray, 43, of Waverly, was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on U.S. 23 and attempting to exit onto SR 159 when McManus’ vehicle struck her head-on.

McManus was initially taken by Springfield Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center before being flown via MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with non-life-threatening injuries. A juvenile passenger sitting in the back seat of McManus’ vehicle was uninjured and released to family members at the scene.

Spray was also flown via MedFlight directly from the scene to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Springfield Township Fire and EMS, Green Township Fire and EMS, and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. U.S. 23 and the SR 159 exit ramp were closed for approximately 30 minutes while troopers conducted their initial investigation.
