The Teays Valley Digital Academy recently received a grant for $9,029 to purchase 30 Chromebooks and a charging cart. The Digital Academy is an alternative educational option utilizing online curriculum and local staff support for students who seek a nontraditional learning experience. It services more than 200 students throughout the school year.
“I would like to thank the Teays Valley Educational Foundation for the generous grant to fund Chromebooks for the Digital Academy. The addition of the Chromebooks to TVDA will help us service more students on a daily basis. We will use them to replace our desktop  computers, which will give students more freedom of movement in the Student Achievement Center, allowing them to break away from the idea of a traditional classroom,” TVDA director Joel Baker said.
TVEF board member Robin Halley is pictured presenting the check to Baker.
