Head Start enrolling for 2024-25 school year

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO (June 6, 2024) – Enrollment for Head Start and Early Head Start for the 2024-25 school year is underway at Pickaway County Community Action Organization (PICCA). Early Head Start is for children up to 3 years old and including prenatal mothers, and Head Start is for children ages 3-5 years old.

“Head Start gives children and parents an advantage in the educational process,” said Jonna Motter, director of Early Childhood Education for PICCA. “Studies show that children enrolled in Head Start perform better in school and in life.”

Head Start services include comprehensive child development and family support services to all enrolled children, pregnant women and families. This includes services to children with disabilities.

“Eligible families include those experiencing homelessness, receiving public assistance (SNAP, TANF and SSI) and those with incomes under the federal poverty guidelines,” Motter said. “Children in foster care are also eligible.”

The school year begins Aug. 14. Motter advised interested parents and/or guardians to enroll quickly as spots are filling up.

Walk-in enrollments are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Corwin Head Start building, 145 E. Corwin St., Circleville, Ohio 43113.
