Chillicothe — One of three new vendors in the Farmers Market is “Flo Acre Farm.” I spoke with Natalie on the first “summer” market of the season on May 4th.

She offers a variety of farm products at the market, a duplicate of what is available at her roadside stand at the first driveway on US 23 north of Crouse Chapel Road, north of Chillicothe. (She also sells at Hirsch’s on Seney Road off North Bridge Street.)

“Flo Acre Farm” on US 23, from their Facebook page.

A month ago at the market, she offered flower and vegetable starts – including “fun flowers” and succulent highlights by her daughters – as well as guinea and turkey eggs. (Offerings could be much different by now, so check with the online market listing.)

Natalie said she also offers straw, hay, and field corn year round at her farm, with fall flowers and mums for the last four years. She sells pork and lamb grown on the farm.

Natalie explained that the name came about because the owner Florence left the farm to her dad in the 1960s, thus “Flo Acres.” They have a Facebook page.

The Chillicothe Farmers Market continues to be open on Saturdays from 8am to noon through October, instead of opening only at 10am for its winter season.

The market has a websiteFacebook page, and Instagram page. You can also create an account and order ahead, up to 8am each Friday, to pick up pre-paid on Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Ross County Service Center at 475 Western Avenue in Chillicothe.

(If you read my story on Café Graciela, they have had staffing issues and have not been able to have a tent at every market.)
