Chillicothe – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Corey J. Cottrill has been selected as the 2022 Trooper of the Year at the Chillicothe Post.
The selection of Trooper Cottrill, age 32, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2022 at the Chillicothe Post. Trooper Cottrill was selected for this award by his peers, because of his enthusiastic work attitude, leadership abilities, community engagement, and his level of professionalism with his supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Cottrill is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Awards, which will be announced at a later date.
Trooper Cottrill has previously received the Criminal Patrol Award in 2018, the ACE Award in 2020 and 2021.
Trooper Cottrill joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2014 and was a member of the 157th Academy Class. Upon his graduation, Trooper Cottrill served at the Gallipolis Post and the Chillicothe Post. Trooper Cottrill attended Huntington High School in Ross County. Trooper Cottrill and his wife, Allison, live in Chillicothe, Ohio, with their two children, Cayne and Calvin.
