HOCKING – Hocking Sheriff reports for week of November 14th.

 

November 14, 2019
Deputies responded to an Apple Max Rd. residence for a theft complaint. After investigation, deputies identified a suspect and filed for a warrant for their arrest.—–

November 17, 2019
Deputies responded to a First St. residence for a criminal damaging complaint. The victim told deputies that they believed juveniles from the neighborhood had damaged windows and the siding to the residence with BB’s. After investigation, deputies forwarded charges of delinquency by criminal damaging to the Prosecutor’s Office to be filed in Juvenile Court.—–

November 18, 2019
Deputies investigated a two vehicle crash on Wagner Rd. at Thompson Ridge Rd.—–

November 19, 2019
A SR 664N resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to file a report of identity theft. The victim was provided information to contact to assist in protecting their information. Residents are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office to report incidents of identity theft and also to contact Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’ Consumer Protection Unit. The AG website has forms to assist victims in notifying creditors and credit reporting agencies of fraud or potential fraud.—–

A Stout Rd. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to file a report of theft. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies took a report of a civil issue involving an eviction. The complainants alleged that the landlord had removed their property prior to being served the writ of execution.—–

November 19, 2019
Deputies responded to an argument between three individuals at a Main St. Rockbridge residence. All parties were warned for disorderly conduct.—–

A SR 664 resident reported to deputies that they had items stolen from a barn. The case remains under investigation.—–

A Washington St. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an identity theft. The victim told deputies that they were contacted by phone and told they had won two million dollars from Publisher’s Clearinghouse. The victim provided the caller with their personal information. They later realized it was a scam and went to their banking institution and closed all the accounts. The Sheriff’s Office has had several of these types of reports recently and continues to remind people that unsolicited calls of this nature or anyone asking for personal information such as social security numbers, date of birth and banking information is out to steal from you. Please don’t provide this information, just hang up and file a report with your local law enforcement agency and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Unit.—–

Deputies responded to a Cupp Rd. business for a burglary complaint. Three cabins had been forcibly entered and items stolen. Stolen items were entered and the case is ongoing.—–

November 19, 2019
A Keifel Rd. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The victim was notified by their bank that possible unauthorized purchases had been attempted on their credit card. The bank was able to stop the purchases.—–

November 20, 2019
Deputies responded to a Charles St. residence for a burglary complaint. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies conducted a well-being check at a Hayden Place Apartment. Everyone was fine.—–

November 20, 2019
Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle being driven by Charles L. Davison, 40, Logan because Davison had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Davison failed to comply and attempted to flee from deputies down Hunter St., Front St. and Walhonding Ave. Davison crashed the motorcycle at the end of Walhonding and the beginning of Nickle Plate Rd. Davison was arrested for the warrant and additionally charges for Failure to Comply a Felony of the Third degree were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for indictment. Davison was transported to the SEORJ.—–

November 20, 2019
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault that occurred. The case was referred to the detective bureau and the investigation is ongoing.
