October 22, 2020
A Union Furnace resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The complainant told deputies that a chainsaw had been stolen sometime in the past 3 weeks.

October 22, 2020
Deputies responded to a Nickle Plate Rd. residence for a breaking and entering complaint. The complainant told deputies that someone had entered their garage and stole several items. The case remains under investigation.

October 23, 2020
Deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at a Zwickle Rd. residence. After investigation, deputies arrested Steven A. Spears, 33, Logan and charged him with Domestic Violence and Assault. Spears was transported to the SEORJ.

Deputies responded to an unruly juvenile complaint for a child running away from home. After a short search deputies located the child. The child was returned to the parent.

Deputies responded to a Main St. Logan residence for a dog bite. The complainant told deputies that a dog being watched by a neighbor had attacked their grandchild, biting them in the face. The child received medical attention at HVCH and the dog is being held at the shelter for a 10 day quarantine period.

October 25, 2020
Deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at a Maple St. Laurelville residence. After investigation, the report was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office with a recommendation for criminal charges.

October 24, 2020
Deputies received a complaint from a Cherrycrest Dr. resident of an altercation that had occurred two weeks prior. The complainant just wanted the incident documented.

A Perry County deputy requested the assistance of a deputy from Hocking County after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle, the deputy learned the vehicle had been taken from relative without permission in Hocking County. After interviewing the suspects, the case was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office with a recommendation for criminal charges.

October 25, 2020
Deputies, along with Logan PD responded to Walmart Logan, OH after receiving a request from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to locate a person of interest and a child in regard to an interference with custody involving the non-custodial parent. After finding out what had occurred, deputies released the child to the custodial parent from the Sheriff’s Office and no charges were filed.

October 25, 2020
Deputies responded to a criminal damaging complaint at a Stage Rd. residence. The complainant told deputies that they had arrived at the residence, and the resident told them to leave and as they were, the resident threw a brick and shattered their windshield. The landlord arrived and told the victim that they would replace the windshield. The complainant was satisfied with that and no charges were filed.

Deputies responded to a South Bloomingville business for an overdose. The victim refused medical treatment from HCEMS.

Deputies responded to a Hayden Place Apartment for a suicidal person. Deputies transported to HVCH for evaluation and treatment.

Deputies responded to a burglary complaint at a Homer St. residence. The complainant told deputies that someone had entered the residence and stole a laptop.

Deputies responded to a Hayden Place apartment for an overdose. HCEMS transported to HVCH.

Deputies began investigating a report of a runaway juvenile that was on house arrest orders from Juvenile Court. Deputies located the juvenile several hours later and transported the juvenile to the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center.

Deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at a California Rd. residence. After investigation, deputies arrested James D. Ebert, 23, Laurelville for Domestic Violence and Assault. Ebert was transported to the SEORJ.

October 27, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 664N residence for a suspicious vehicle complaint. The complainant provided deputies with pictures of a blue GMC Terrain diving half-way up their long driveway and turning around. The complainant told deputies that it had occurred three day in a row. The residence was added to the patrol list.

Deputies responded to a Hayden Place apartment for a domestic argument. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.

A SR 93 resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a missing juvenile. Deputies began investigating and after a few hours, the juvenile had returned home. Charges for unruly were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office. A request for charges for an adult who lied to deputies about the juvenile and harbored them was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office.

October 28, 2020
Deputies responded to a Rocky Fork Rd. rental cabin after an employee found a broken window at the cabin. The renters were still present and told deputies they didn’t know how the window got broken. Deputies informed the parties that the issue was a civil issue and not criminal.

Deputies responded to a Hack St. Murray City residence for a menacing compliant. The complainant told deputies that a third party had told them that the suspect had threatened them.

Deputies responded to a complaint of domestic violence at a Mays Rd. residence. After investigation, deputies forwarded the case file to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.

October 29, 2020
Deputies responded to a natural death at a Harvey Chapel Rd. residence.

October 30, 2020
Deputies responded to a Hunter St. business for an intoxicated person. Deputies arrested Andy W. Monk, 61, Nelsonville for Disorderly Conduct and transported him to the SEORJ for a 6 hour hold.

Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on U.S. 33 near SR 374 after the driver suffered a medical emergency, lost control and came to rest in the median.

Deputies responded to a fight complaint at Hawk St. Carbon Hill address. No charges were filed.

October 31, 2020
A Laurelville family arrived at the Sheriff’s Office to file a complaint alleging their child had assaulted a parent. After investigating the matter and consulting with Juvenile Court, the juvenile was transported to the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center.

November 3, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 93 residence for a suicidal person. They were transported to HVCH for treatment and evaluation.
