CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO- The new ArtsaRound Gallery on the Original Circle welcomes Trevor Saunders for an impromptu sidewalk performance this Sunday, August 16th  at around 2pm. The gallery and classroom space will from time to time offer safe, open air art-related events on the sidewalks in front of its 135 W. Main Street location in the heart of Historical Downtown Circleville.

“Mr. Saunders plans to perform for about an hour” states Gallery Director, J.P. Pennell. “ArtsaRound’s purpose is to promote all art forms and this sidewalk performance allows citizens passing by in cars, walking our downtown area, or dining nearby on patios to enjoy live music.” Trevor is a multi-instrumentalist performer and will primarily be playing old time banjo tunes, originals and modern covers of folk music with both clawhammer and finger picking. He is influenced by the likes of Ralph Stanley, Stringbean, and Hank Williams. He also enjoys the historic musical side of Circleville, especially Sammy Stewart and his Orchestra.

“I was born in Columbus, raised in Circleville my entire life and graduated here. I also have volunteered to help clean Canal Park, and work for a local business that’s been around for quite some time” comments Trevor Saunders. “I’ve been playing music since a young age, I played both alto and baritone saxophone in the Circleville marching band from 6th to 8th grade. I furthered my musical journey with guitar during and after that period. Eventually taking on banjo, bass, a little mandolin, and occasionally use a suitcase kick drum.”

The ArtsaRound Gallery on the Original Circle is housed in the old Marfield Bank Building owned by the Pickaway County Historical Society, a rare pie-shaped property that was part of the original circle of Circleville. The gallery is manned by local volunteers Fridays 4 to 7pm, Saturdays 10 to 6pm and Sundays 1 to 4pm. Hours may vary based on volunteer availability, special classes, gallery events, and other advertised downtown events. For more gallery information find us on Facebook or email us at [email protected]
