FAIRFIELD – Violence broke out this morning when a man was shot dead during what police say was a domestic violence situation.
According to the Fairfield Sheriff Department that on August 27, 2020 at approximately 5:39 am Deputies were dispatched to 100 Block of East Oak Street in Canal Winchester on a Domestic Violence situation.
Upon arriving, Deputies discovered Stephen Lance Ritter II, age 50, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Sheriff Phalen advised that Detectives and Investigators from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death as an apparent murder.
Stephen Lance Ritter III, age 22, is in custody and has been charged with Aggravated Murder pending further review by the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.
