Chillicothe – A 911 call of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Neal and Massie ave is still under investigation on what exactly happened according to the Chillicothe Police department.
On 1/04/22 police were called to Neal and Massie after a juvenile was shot in the leg. When they arrived they assisted the 16-year-old juvenile that was, “bleeding out” and unresponsive from that gunshot wound. Several other juveniles that were in the area were detained for questioning when police could not find a gun or a casting laying around the victim.
Accoridng to the report several of the 15-16-year-olds were running down Neil ave with the victim when they heard a shot and he fell down. In the report, there are conflicting reports as to what happened next.
One juvenile reported that another juvenile in the group then grabbed the gun and took off with it to keep the victim out of trouble, others reported that the gun just went off on accident, and another left the scene and was later contacted by police for an interview. In the report, the child that left the scene was at the home of the shooting on December 31, 2022, when a 15-year-old was shot by a 17-year-old.
Chillicothe police say that the incident is still under investigation, and if anyone has any information to contact the police department. The child was transported by local Emergency services and is reported in stable condition.
