COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Republican Party’s State Central Committee has re-elected Alex M. Triantafilou as chairman, granting him another four-year term to lead the party ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
The vote took place Friday during the committee’s reorganizational meeting at party headquarters in Columbus.
In addition to re-electing Triantafilou, committee members selected a full slate of party officers to serve alongside him. Meredith Freedhoff was elected vice chairman, Tony Schroeder was chosen as secretary, Diane Redden was elected treasurer, and Gary James was selected as assistant treasurer.
Party leaders said the newly elected officers will oversee fundraising, grassroots organizing, and party operations across Ohio’s 88 counties as Republicans prepare for several high-profile races on the November ballot.
Among the party’s priorities are statewide campaigns, including the gubernatorial bid of Vivek Ramaswamy and the U.S. Senate campaign of Jon Husted, as well as congressional, legislative, and local races throughout the state.
Following his re-election, Triantafilou thanked committee members for their support and emphasized the importance of the upcoming midterm elections.
“I am humbled by the trust of the State Central Committee and ready to get right back to work,” Triantafilou said. “The 2026 midterms will decide who fights for Ohio in Columbus and in Washington.”
Triantafilou currently serves as chairman of the Ohio Republican Party and is one of Ohio’s representatives on the Republican National Committee. Party officials credited him with helping guide the organization through recent election cycles while expanding its grassroots network statewide.
The Ohio Republican Party is the state’s largest Republican political organization, supporting candidates at the local, state, and federal levels.
