CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a relentless volume of calls on Monday, May 11, 2026, recording 26 separate incidents ranging from a serious drug trafficking case to a string of early-morning disorderly conduct reports.

Major Crimes & Drug Enforcement

At 4:32 PM, officers on North Paint Street initiated a significant drug enforcement action (Case PD-P2601875). A report was filed for Trafficking in Drugs containing Cocaine. This case, identified as #26-PTF-136, remains a priority as the investigation into local distribution continues.

Other criminal investigations opened Monday include:

  • Theft at the YMCA: At 8:33 PM, officers responded to the YMCA on Mill Street regarding a theft.
  • Aggravated Menacing: A resident from the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue visited the Law Enforcement Complex at 8:21 AM to report serious threats made against them.

Traffic Accidents & Licensing Violations

The day began with a crash at 1:34 AM at the Certified Gas Station on North Bridge Street. Upon investigation, officers discovered the driver was not only failing to control the vehicle but was also driving under suspension (DUS) due to unpaid child support and fines.

Later in the day, police responded to two more “failure to yield” crashes on North Bridge Street and a “marked lanes” violation on Orange Street.

Disorderly Conduct & Domestic Violence

The “Early Morning Shift” was kept busy by a wave of disturbances across the city:

  • Disturbances: Between 2:00 AM and 5:30 AM, officers were called to Fairway Avenue, East Water Street, and East 4th Street for separate disorderly conduct complaints.
  • Domestic Violence: At 2:00 PM, officers responded to a call in the 600 block of Eastern Avenue regarding an alleged assault during a domestic dispute.
  • Trespassing: A domestic dispute at 9:52 AM on Western Avenue led to a criminal trespass charge.

Juvenile Concerns & Welfare Checks

Police handled two sensitive cases involving local youth:

  • S.C.J.F.S. Referral: Following a welfare check on Sycamore Street at 2:24 PM, officers found no criminal activity but made a formal referral to South Central Job and Family Services to ensure the child’s ongoing safety.
  • Missing Person: At 9:31 PM, a report was taken at the police station lobby regarding an unruly and missing juvenile from West 7th Street.

Vandalism Spree

Public and private property were targeted by vandals on Monday. Reports of “Criminal Damaging” were taken on Rogers Parkway in the morning and later at Lincoln Park on West 7th Street at 3:41 PM.
