PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — One person was seriously injured in a high-speed rollover crash early Thursday morning in Pickaway County that temporarily shut down U.S. 23.
According to Pickaway County first responders, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 2 a.m. on January 29, 2026, near the intersection of U.S. 23 and Pic-Way Road. Authorities said three people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
First responders reported that one of the occupants told crews the vehicle was traveling at more than 100 miles per hour on U.S. 23 when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll over. When fire crews arrived, they found the vehicle overturned on its roof. Two of the occupants had already exited the vehicle on their own.
Firefighters then worked to remove the third occupant, identified as the driver, from the vehicle. Two of the three occupants suffered injuries in the crash, with the driver sustaining the most severe injuries. The driver was transported to Grant Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The extent of the second injured occupant’s condition was not immediately released.

U.S. 23 was closed in both directions for approximately 30 minutes while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
