CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local pet owners can protect their furry family members at no cost next month during the Ross County Health District’s annual free drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic.
The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot across from the health district’s main office, located at 150 E. Second St. in Chillicothe.
The event is strictly open to dogs and cats only. Free vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Health officials have established several guidelines for the event:
- Dogs: Must be kept on a leash or securely harnessed.
- Cats: Must be brought in a pet carrier.
- Health Restrictions: On-site veterinarians reserve the right to decline vaccinations for any pet due to underlying health concerns.
Event organizers note that RCHD and participating veterinary staff are not responsible for pets attending the clinic.
