Chillicothe, Ohio (February 15, 2024) – A head-on collision on U.S. 23 near milepost 14 claimed the life of a Waverly man on Wednesday evening.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Randal R. Benner was driving a Ford Escape southbound on the highway when a northbound Volvo driven by 27-year-old Bikramjit Singh of Stockton, California, made an improper lane change, forcing both vehicles off the road and into a collision.
Mr. Benner was rushed to Adena Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Singh was not reported injured.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, assisted by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Ross County ODOT, Scioto Township EMS, Springfield Township EMS, and the VA Fire Department.
