Chillicothe & Kingston — One of the newer vendors at the Chillicothe Farmers Market offers duck eggs, pork, and skin care and balms from their farm near Kingston.

Brett with “Foster Farmstead” spoke to me at the February 10th market. He and his wife have been farming for two years, and joined the market at the start of last summer.

Their pigs are free-range, as are their ducks. He said since duck eggs have larger yolks, some cooks prefer them over chicken eggs.

For skin care, they offer all-organic essential oils in tallow-based face balms, men’s face balms, baby balms, and body balms. Tallow is rendered beef fat, and Brett said it bio-indentifies with human skin. Some of their balms include frankincense for wrinkles.

They also offer salves, which are beeswax-based. Brett said calendula is good for cuts and scrapes, and comfrey is good for muscle aches and joint pains.

One thing he forgot to mention in the below video interview is that they also donate 10% of their profits to charity. “Farming for Good” includes missions work in Southeast Asia for women’s empowerment. They help girls involved in sex trafficking and displaced from their villages to make a better living.

Foster Farmstead’s website is being rebuilt, but you can submit message there. You can also find them mentioned in the Chillicothe Farmers Market page on Facebook.
