UPDATE: Woman Charged for Fleeing Police in Pickaway County After Wreck

PICKAWAY – A elderly woman was arrested after having a dozen police were called to a high-speed chase on US-23 on Wednesday night.

According to the Sheriff’s department, a Little Ceasar Semi-truck driver called 911 when a Honda Pilot struck the semi and then left the scene around the areas of 762 and Southbound US-23 in North Pickaway.

A bolo was put out for the vehicle and South Bloomfield was able to get behind the suspected vehicle and attempted the stop. The 65-year-old woman did not stop and accelerated to high speeds of over 90 mph.

The pursuit ended in the area of Juvenile Detention area of US-23 when Pickaway Sheriffs and OSP joined in the chase and boxed the woman in.

The woman told the police that she did not hear the police or see the lights.

Irene Drake 65 of Columbus was charged with Failure to comply with order or signal and eluding or flee speed limits. She was also cited for the crash.
