Bainbridge – On August 29, 2019 at 11:03 P.M., the Ohio State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation in Bainbridge, Ohio and was subsequently involved in a slow speed vehicle pursuit. The suspect, Russel Herman, age 33 of Chillicothe, Ohio, voluntarily terminated the pursuit by coming to a stop on US 50 near SR 41.

Once outside of his vehicle Mr. Herman struck one Trooper in the face and sustained a laceration to his head when he was taken to the ground before being taken into custody.
The Trooper and Mr. Herman were transported from the scene to the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe by Paint and Paxton Township EMS and both later released with minor injuries.
