The Main Library and the Younkin Branch are open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the summer. Both library locations are closed on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The library will be announcing new operating hours soon!

Here are the events coming up at the Pickaway County District Public Library in August:

  • All-Age Events at Main Library, Circleville:
  • Grilling With My Grandchild, a 3-session series for grandfathers and grandchildren in 5th thru 8th grade; presented by OSU Extension, Aug. 1, 3 and 8, 12PM to 2PM; registration required.
  • Friends of the Library Used Book Sale: Sat, Aug. 5 (bag sale), and Sat. Aug. 19, 9 AM to 3 PM, Main Library garage
  • Family Movie Night: The Boss Baby (PG): Thursday, Aug. 17, 6 PM to 7:30 PM
  • Eclipse Viewing Party: glasses, crafts and snacks will be provided, Monday, Aug. 21, 1PM to 4PM
  • Bigfoot In Ohio: presented by Ohio Night Stalkers, view footprint castings and video recordings from the group’s founders; Saturday, Aug. 26, 2 PM to 4 PM

Teen & Adult Programs at Main Library, Circleville:

  • Aug. 1 – deadline for grand-prize drawing entries
  • A Matter Of Balance Class, an 8-session series for older adults; co-presented with the YMCA & OSU Extension, Wednesdays & Fridays 1-3PM; registration FULL (Next series scheduled for September)
  • Teen Tuesday (grades 6-12): every Tuesday, 5 PM to 7 PM
  • Aug. 1: 4-D Coloring
  • Aug. 8: Picnic on the Patio
  • Aug. 15: Perler Bead Keychain
  • Aug. 22: Book Tasting
  • Aug. 29: Game Night
  • Make & Take Craft-PomPom Flowers: Saturday, Aug. 12, 1 PM to 3 PM
  • Movie Matinee: Going In Style (PG-13): Thursday, Aug. 17, 1:30 PM to 3 PM
  • Book Club for Adults-Lab Girl by Hope Jahren: Wed, Aug. 23, 7-8 PM
  • Zentangle: an Introduction, a creative way to improve your focus and reduce stress; Monday, Aug. 28, 6 PM to 8 PM (register online or at 740-477-1644 x227)

Youth Programs at Main Library, Circleville:

  • Aug. 1 – deadline for grand-prize drawing entries
  • Storytimes are on summer break – see you in September!

Younkin Branch Library Programs, Ashville:

  • Aug. 1 – deadline for grand-prize drawing entries

Bookmobile:
The Bookmobile visits 45 stops around the county. Materials available on the Bookmobile include books for all ages, movies and music. Other materials available by request. Bookmobile stops include Williamsport, Darbyville, New Holland, South Bloomfield, Tarlton, Atlanta, Commercial Point, Southern Point, Orient, Derby, Clark’s Lake, Five Points, Circleville area and many more. Schedules of exact times and locations are available at any library location or at http://www.pickawaylib.org.
