
PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — Two separate incidents involving school transportation vehicles occurred Thursday morning in Pickaway County, prompting responses from local first responders and the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
The first crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 188 and Bell Station Road, where a school-owned van was involved in a minor traffic collision. According to Circleville Schools, another vehicle pulled out in front of the van, which was transporting two high school students. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
“We appreciate the swift response from our local first responders and the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department,” school officials said in a statement. “Everyone is safe, and we’re thankful for that.”
A second, more serious crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. in South Bloomfield at the intersection of U.S. 23 and State Route 752, involving a Teays Valley school bus and two other vehicles. Reports indicate the collision resulted in minor to moderate damage, with injuries confirmed, though details on the extent remain limited. According to Teays Valley schools, no kids were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Northbound traffic on U.S. 23 was temporarily backed up as crews worked to clear the scene and assess those involved.
Officials have not yet released further details on injuries or the cause of the crash. Both incidents are under investigation.
