Two Killed in Three Car Crash Outside of Amanda

AMANDA – Two Lancaster residents were killed in a three car accident just outside of Amanda last night around 8 pm on U.S. 22 just before the 22/33 split, and Delmont rd.

According to the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol, John  Doe, 72 of Lancaster was traveling east on U.S. 22 in a 2011 Honda Accord. A 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Estellia Sheridan, 23 of Stoutsville was headed westbound.  The third vehicle a 2004 Toyota Tacoma driven by Scott Spires was also traveling westbound.

According to State Highway Patrol Doe’s Accord went left of center, swiping Sheridan”s Toyota Corolla, then struck the third vehicle the Toyota Tacoma in a head on collision.

Doe was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, one of his passengers Maryland Doe 73 was transported to local hospital Fairfield medical where she succumbed to her injuries also.

Three other people were also transported to FMC the Corolla had only a driver, and the Tacoma had driver and a juvenile.

Lancaster State Highway Patrol with assistance Fairfield County Sheriff, Amanda Township Fire, Hocking fire, and Lancaster Fire were on scene.

According to the State Highway office the accident is still under investigation.
