CIRCLEVILLE – On Friday 6/25/2021 at 4:14PM the Circleville Safety Forces Communications Center received a call advising a possible overdose in a vehicle with a small child in the vehicle in the area of 23625 US23 .  Upon arrival Officers made contact with Gabrielle Pretson and Eric Tackett, both of Columbus, and their two year old child. Officers observed that both individuals were under the influence of narcotics. Officers also observed, in plain view, a white substance inside the vehicle that was later discovered to be fentanyl. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several drug abuse instruments including uncapped syringes within the child’s reach.

During the investigation Officers discovered a third person fled the scene prior to Officers arrival and was now in Rural King. Officers made contact with the third subject as he was leaving the Rural King who attempted to give Officers a fake name and date of birth. The male was later discovered to be Zachary Sparks who had two outstanding warrants out of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. Pickaway County Child Protective Services responded to the scene removed the child and placed the child in temporary care.

The individuals were charged as follows:

Garbrielle Preston: Poss. Of Drugs (F-5), Endangering Children (M-1)

Eric Tackett: Poss. Of Drugs (F-5), Endangering Children (M-1)

Zachary Sparks: Obstructing Official Business (M-2)
