Teays Valley Vikings Break School Bowling Records Against Olentangy

Boys Varsity

Behind a 299 of Senior Captain Lukas Dunbar, the Vikings defeated Olentangy Berlin on Friday 2353-1958. Dunbar was also the Match Medalist with a 481 series. 

After honoring the FFA and Agriculture Department for the school, the Vikings jumped out ahead with a 1013-821 lead. Behind Junior Zavier Gest’s 215 game, the Vikings followed up game 1 with a 906 game 2. The Vikings finished the evening with a 434 series in the Baker Games. 

The Vikings (9-0, 7-0 COHSBC, 3-0 OCC-Buckeye) travel to HPL on Saturday for the Ohio State High School Classic.

Girls Varsity

The Lady Vikings broke two records on Friday against Olentangy Berlin. The Lady Vikings had an 898 team game in Game 2, breaking the previous record of 809 (set in 2019). The Lady Vikings 2 game series 1561 also broke the previous record of 1543 (set in 2019). 

Junior Captain Loralai Kinzy, who shot a personal-best 255 was the match medalist with a remarkable 446 series. Freshman Gretchen Stachler had her personal-best with a 210 game in Game 2. 

The Lady Vikings (4-5, 3-4 COHSBC, 2-1 OCC-Buckeye) return to action on Saturday at the Ohio State Invitational at HPL.

Boys JV

Behind the match medalist performance of Freshman Sam Rodgers, the Vikings JV team defeated Olentangy Berlin 1791-1415. Rodgers shot his personal-best 224. 

The boys shot a 791 in Game 1 and a 704 in Game 2. The team then shot a 185 in Baker 2 to finish the evening. 

The Vikings JV (7-1, 6-1 COHSBC, 2-1 OCC-Buckeye) return to the lanes on Tuesday at Dragon Lanes against Marysville.
