Teays Valley Community Involved in Marysville Hotel Carbon Monoxide Incident

Marysville – Muliple people were taken to the hospital after people were found unconscious around a pool area inside a Marysville Hotel.

According to the Marysville fire department, they were dispatched to Hampton Inn in Marysville, Ohio on Saturday night for a report of a 2-year old that was unconscious around the pool area, when they arrived they found several people who were dealing with Carbon Monoxide poisoning, some of them Teays Valley families.

According to local sources, several Teays Valley families were in the area for a Wrestling Tournament and had booked into this particular hotel overnight.

Over a dozen people complained of burning sensations in their throats and dizziness. Marysville Fire department reported that eleven people six of them children were sent to the hospital. Seven were considered serious, and two of them were critical. Several others were evaluated at the scene and released.

At least one family from Teays Valley is in the hospital a Mom, Dad, and two children.

The entire hotel was evacuated due to the seriousness of the carbon monoxide levels. The hotel management found rooms for families that were not affected and the hotel was emptied for investigation on the cause of the incident.
