USA – A spice company says that you should check your spice cabinet before the holidays and consider throwing out the old spices. We all have them, spices that have sat inside the cabinet before maybe your kids were born, or spices you never want to throw away just in case you will use them. Here’s a way the spice company tells us your spices are too old.
If your spices are in a rectangular tin or if they were packaged in Baltimore, congratulations, your seasoning has been around for a quarter of a century.
Mccormick says that you don’t have to worry about getting sick from old spices, but you probably should use them. When spices age they lose flavor so adding them to the dishes is really doesn’t do anything. McCormick recommended you replace your spices every three years.
