Ross County Health District Offers Expanded Immunization Services

Chillicothe, OH – Beginning Monday, July 15, the Ross County Health District (RCHD) will enhance its Public Health Nursing Clinic services with extended hours for appointments, running from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Monday through Wednesday (closed on holidays).

Residents are encouraged to call 740-775-1146 to schedule appointments at the RCHD Nurse Clinic. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and parents are advised to bring their child’s immunization record obtained from their physician. The clinic offers a comprehensive range of immunizations for children, adolescents, and adults, excluding those required for international travel.

For children, recommended vaccines include Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Whooping Cough (DTap, Tdap, Td), and others, while adults (ages 19 and over) have access to vaccines such as Hepatitis A and B, Shingles, and more.

To determine required and recommended immunizations, residents can refer to the Ohio Department of Health website. Immunization records can be obtained from the RCHD with a signed medical release and current identification.

During appointments, individuals should bring their immunization record (if available) and current insurance card. The RCHD accepts various insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, Anthem BCBS, United Healthcare, and others. Residents with different insurance plans are encouraged to contact the office to confirm coverage.
