Goodwill Childcare will be hosting a hiring event on Wednesday, June 7 for its new center on Western Avenue which will open later this summer.

Anyone interested in working at the center as a teacher, assistant teacher (aide), or an administrative assistant is encouraged to stop by 2541 Western Ave. (next to the Goodwill store) between noon and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7. Childcare Administrator Maryanne Queen and Goodwill of South Central Ohio Missions Coordinator Cana Horner will be among those on hand to answer questions and conduct interviews.

“We are so excited about putting together our team and getting the chance to serve families in a new and different way from how we have in the past,” Maryanne said. Prospective employees will get a tour of the facility, which previously housed the corporate offices, and learn more about the center and its mission to strengthen the community by providing an environment where children are safe, nurtured and stimulated, allowing their families to re-enter or remain in the workforce and live the lives they envision.

Work to obtain licensure and get the center ready has been ongoing since December when Goodwill’s board approved moving forward with opening a center. An Open House for families and guardians interested in enrolling children at the center will be scheduled at a later date. Those interested may text CHILDCARE to 844-940-2300 to get an alert when enrollment begins and the Open House is scheduled.
