Heritage Nazarene Church will honor local “everyday heroes” this weekend with a special service set for 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

According to Pastor Wendell Brown, the service is not intended so much as a remembrance of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York and Washington D.C., but as a way to recognize those in our local community who put their lives on the line each day in performance of their duties.

“With Sept. 11 falling on a Sunday this year, we just thought it was a great opportunity for us to recognize all of our everyday heroes in our community,” Brown said. “We are calling it 9-1-1 Sunday, and we will have representatives here from departments that serve the local Circleville community.”

Brown said guest speakers will include Chief Shawn Baer, Circleville Police Department; Sheriff Robert Radcliff, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office; and Lt. Steven Herron, Circleville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He said the church also has extended invitations to all members of Circleville Fire and EMS to participate in Sunday’s service.

The event is open to the public, and all are welcome.
