Pickaway County Will Commemorate 9/11 with Remembrance Ceremony

PICKAWAY – Pickaway county entities will come together this week on a remembrance ceremony for 9/11 twenty years after the event.

The event will take place at the Pickaway county courthouse 207 South Court Street on the morning of 9/11 in Circleville.

The event will start at 8:30 am with prayer, pledge, and the national anthem, followed by bells peal at exactly 8:46 the time the first plane hit one of the towers. At 8:47 speakers, music, and recognition of first responders, at 9:03 am another Bells peal will sound off the remembrance of the second plane to hit the tower. at 9:04 there will be a benediction, taps, and a motor parade at 9:37 am the bells will sound again for the plane that hit the pentagon 20 years ago, then a final ring of bells at 10:03 for the plane that crashed into the field at Shanksville PA.

This will be hosted by the Pickaway Women’s Republican Club.
