COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Pickaway County man has pleaded guilty to multiple federal drug and firearms charges following a major investigation that uncovered large quantities of narcotics, cash, and weapons at a hotel in Hilliard.

Samuel A. Griffith, 35, of Ashville, entered guilty pleas Wednesday in U.S. District Court to six charges related to drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. He now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with the possibility of life behind bars.

According to court records, investigators executed a search warrant in October 2025 at a Red Roof Inn in Hilliard, where Griffith had been staying. Authorities say he was distributing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine from the hotel room.

During the search, agents recovered more than four kilograms of methamphetamine, approximately 800 grams of fentanyl, and nearly half a kilogram of cocaine. In addition, officers seized 18 firearms and nearly $40,000 in cash.

Officials noted that Griffith has prior felony convictions, including robbery and drug-related offenses, which legally prohibited him from possessing firearms or ammunition.

The charges to which Griffith pleaded guilty include multiple counts of drug distribution and possession with intent to distribute large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The case was investigated by several agencies, including federal and local law enforcement partners. Prosecutors say the sentencing date will be determined at a later hearing, where a judge will consider federal guidelines and other statutory factors.

Griffith will remain under court supervision pending sentencing.
