
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, OH — A high-speed collision on State Route 104 sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon, including one driver who had to be airlifted following a multi-rollover crash.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:51 p.m. on April 20, 2026, near the intersection of Fox Road in Jackson Township.
The Collision
According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office report, two vehicles were traveling southbound on SR 104 when the crash occurred in a designated passing zone.
The investigation, led by Deputy Alex Casto, determined that Melvin Allen II, 61, of Chillicothe, was traveling in a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado and had entered the northbound lane to pass a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Simultaneously, the driver of the Jeep, Lee Anthony Hollis, 55, also of Chillicothe, pulled into the northbound lane to pass a different vehicle.
The Jeep struck the Chevrolet as both attempted the maneuver. The impact forced the Chevrolet Colorado off the left side of the roadway, where it traveled down an embankment and rolled over several times before coming to rest.
Injuries and Emergency Response
The crash resulted in significant injuries to those in the overturned Chevrolet:
- Melvin Allen II Sustained suspected serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted by MedFlight to the Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center.
- (Passenger): The 15-year-old passenger sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by Harrison Township EMS.
The driver of the Jeep, Lee Anthony Hollis, was treated for possible injuries at the scene by Harrison Township EMS but was not transported to a medical facility.
Scene Investigation
State Route 104 was closed for approximately 90 minutes while deputies and emergency crews cleared the wreckage.
The Chevrolet Colorado sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Amnesty Towing. Investigators noted that while the Jeep’s insurance was verified at the scene, the driver of the Chevrolet was unable to provide proof of insurance.
Both drivers were reportedly wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision, and air bags deployed in the Chevrolet during the rollover. No citations were immediately listed in the preliminary report.
