PICKAWAY – Did you attend this year’s labor day fireworks this weekend? Tim McGinnis from New Life Church says they are overwhelmed with the success of the event.

New life says that the event grows every year and saw about 25% more people this year than last.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the response from our community. We set out each year with the hope of providing an event where people can come and “turn off life” for a few hours. To let the cares, stresses, and busyness of life fade to the background and just let go and enjoy themselves, and from what we’ve heard in response, those that attended were able to do just that. We want to thank everyone for their compliments and gratitude regarding the event overall. We are already beginning to plan for next year!”

McGinnis said that they had at least 1,110 cars parked on the property, and estimated around 3,300 to 4,400 people attended. Food was served at the event at a low cost of .50 cents for hot dogs and 1.00 for a burger, New Life says they served around 800 hot dogs and 900 hamburgers.

“I want to thank Pickaway county sheriff’s office for assisting with traffic during this event, and everyone who was on parking duty.”

New Life said that they had tons of compliments during the event, and on social media. They are asking for people to help plan next year’s event with a survey so they can make it even better.
