PICKAWAY – With Winter approaching Robin Wells of Jonesy’s Treasure Box was put in motion to try to help the local homeless prepare for the winter storm that is fast approaching.

She reached out to several local groups to help get the word out for blankets to pass out to the community.

Jonesy’s Treasure Box, Scioto Post, Mommy and Me Melts Circlevilles Rent 2 Own and Take back the strip all jumped in to put this together today.

Jonesy’s put together the location to drop off blankets and we here at Sciotopost put the word out. Funding came from other groups and locals also donated blankets.

Wells met with a local homeless food pantry group that sets up on the weekend just south of the tracks where she passed out new and slightly used blankets to anyone who wanted one. She then went with the group to some of the local encampments and passed out more. In total over 65 blankets have been passed out so far and more to go for tomorrow.

Robin Wells said, “this came from a prayer god laid this on me today to do something for this winter weather. I’ve cried like a baby, watching this community come together to help people in need.”

If you want to be part of this movement Jonesys treasure box is collecting gloves, Hats, and blankets to give out tomorrow also you can message the Facebook page.
