Military Funeral of Lost WWII Veteran Finally Held in Chillicothe After 51 Years of Mystery

Chilllicothe — After 51 years of mystery, a decorated WWII veteran was finally given honors and put to rest. The military funeral of Ward Raymond Thomas was Monday afternoon in Chillicothe’s Greenlawn Cemetery.

In the below video interviews, local veterans leader Army Ranger Lt. Col. (ret.) Robert Leach explains the event – and Dr. John Gabis, retired Ross County Coroner, explains his 1996 connection to the case.
