Matthew Robert Hogue Passed Away on August 7.

Matthew Robert Hogue, 36, of Grove City formerly of Circleville passed away on August 7, 2017.

He was born on January 17, 1981 in Bremerhaven, Germany to Steven and Patricia (McIntyre) Hogue.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by grandparents Ocie and George McIntyre.

Matthew was a 1999 graduate of Circleville High School, Grad Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Logistics from Franklin University and was on track to graduate from OSU Fisher College of Business in the fall with his masters.

He was an Information Technology Specialist with Defense Logistics Agency and was Six Sigma Green Belt, started and was President of Franklin University Veterans Organization, board member of Parkway Crossing Homeowners Association, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, camping, target shooting, running and enjoyed carpentry and home improvements.  He enjoyed being a musician with the band Dapper Dan.

Matthew was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, friend, patriot and proud of his hometown.  He is survived by his mother and step father Patricia (William) Rice, wife Brittany (Pontious) Hogue, son Harrison Townes Hogue, mother and father-in-law Eric and Cinda Pontious, siblings Michael (Sarah Honan) and Jon (Carrie) Hogue, Tabitha (Jason) Fullen, Kimberly Hogue, Alyssa (Fred) Senczyszyn, Dovey Hogue and Alex Hogue, uncle and aunt Dave (Diane) Hogue, cousins Shawn and Lauren and brother-in-law Brandon (Meagan Doan) Pontious.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Forest Cemetery with full military honors.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

A favorite musician of Matt’s. His son’s middle name came from this singer, and you can see some of Matt’s mannerisms in the musician.
