Hamden, Ohio (February 6, 2024) – Earlier this evening, deputies from the Vinton County Sheriff’s office responded to a concerning scene on State Route 93, just outside of Hamden. A motorist reported a male individual lying in the roadway, exhibiting concerning behavior.
Upon arrival, deputies found the man with a significant head wound. He was reportedly attempting to enter passing vehicles, displaying combative behavior and signs of intoxication. For the safety of both the man and the public, Hamden Fire Department was called to close the roadway.
Working with Vinton County EMS, deputies transported the injured individual to Holzer Hospital in Jackson for treatment. Based on the scene and the man’s condition, authorities believe he may have been thrown from, or jumped out of, a moving vehicle.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information regarding the man’s identity, the potential vehicle involved, or his current condition is available at this time.
