One of media’s most prolific talk show hosts, Jerry Springer, is expected to be the keynote speaker at the Pickaway Democrat’s Fall Roundup on September the 13th.
Although known mostly for his continuing role as host of the self-named talk show Jerry Springer, he has had an impressive career with Ohio’s Democratic party. In the early 1970’s, he spearheaded an effort to reduce the voting age from 21 to 18. He faced turmoil and success as part of Cincinnati City Council, having served twice on it, as well as a one-year term as Mayor of Cincinnati. In the early 1980s, he ran a campaign for candidacy for Governor of Ohio which failed but led him into his greatest success in local and national media.
The Pickaway County Democratic Party has been hard at work for months in creating this event, according to Debbi McCoy, event co-coordinator for the local party. “We’ve been working for a few months to make this a non-partisan event and it is the major fundraiser for our group… Mr Springer gives an inspirational [message] that we are ALL Americans regardless!”
Tickets for the event are $35.00 for general seating and $50.00 for VIP Ringside seats, which include a meet-and-greet as well as a photo opportunity with Mr. Springer.
