February 13, 2022

Deputies responded to Hayden Place Apartments to a report of a verbal dispute. It was reported that a male and female subject had a verbal dispute over some personal matters. Deputies advised the subjects to not be loud.

Deputies responded to Mohler Road to a report of a vehicle fire. It was reported a male subject intentionally set fire to his grandmother’s car in which he had permission to drive. The fire was put out by the City of Logan Fire Department. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Clay Bank Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a male juvenile had assaulted his parents. After speaking to the parties involved and collecting evidence. The male juvenile was arrested transported to the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center.

Deputies handled a complaint of theft from a victim who came to the Sheriff’s Office to report the incident. The victim stated someone stole oil from his tank on State Route 328. The victim stated the estimated value of the oil stolen was approximately five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).

Deputies responded to Haydenville Road to a report of a disturbance. It was reported that an argument took place between two of the residents. A male subject left the residence prior to the Deputies arrival. All other parties were advised a report would be on file and to contact the Sheriff’s Office if the problems continued.

Deputies responded to East Fork Road on a report of theft. It was reported that a male subject was on the complainant’s property without permission. The male subject fled the area after he was yelled at to leave. The victim stated the subject attempted to steal a section of timber from her property.

Deputies responded to Haydenville Road to a report of a subject in a mental health crisis. After speaking to the female subject, she agreed to get mental health treatment. A friend arrived and was able to transport her to a hospital.

Deputies responded to Goss Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that a male subject entered into a residence of a female subject he knows without permission. Before the Deputies arrival, the male subject fled into the woods. Efforts to locate the male were unsuccessful. The incident remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to Hawk Street to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a father and his adult son had got into an altercation. After speaking to all parties involved, the son was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Deputies responded to Connett Road to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was reported to be stolen out of the City of Nelsonville. Nelsonville Police Department was contacted and the vehicle was recovered by the owner.

Deputies responded to Roads Road to a report of theft. It was reported that items were stolen from inside the vehicle along with the catalytic converter. Evidence was collected and the incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to a report of a private property crash. It was reported that a vehicle slid into another on an icy driveway. Minor damage occurred. A crash report was completed for insurance purposes.

February 15, 2022

Deputies responded to Rock Aly to a report of a death. It was reported that the resident had passed away from natural causes. The decedent was released to the funeral home.

Deputies responded to West Street to a report of theft. It was reported that the victim lost his wallet. A short time later he was notified his credit was used at the Certified Gas Station. Deputies followed up at the Certified Gas Station and collected evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

February 16, 2022

Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to a report of a male subject in the Emergency Department having a mental health crisis. The male subject spoke to Hospital staff and received treatment.

February 16, 2023

Deputies responded to State Route 328 on a report of a stolen vehicle. It was reported that a vehicle was stolen from a local dealership. The vehicle was later recovered in Vinton County. Evidence was collected and the incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Homer Street to a child custody complaint. It was reported the court granted emergency custody of a child at the residence to another subject. Deputies attempted to gain custody of the child when the mother started to obstruct official business. She then resisted arrest and after a short struggle, she was placed under arrest and transported to South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Deputies responded to Gooscreek Road to a report of a private property crash. It was reported that while backing out of a driveway a vehicle struck another vehicle that was parked. A report was taken for insurance purposes.

Deputies responded to Drummond Drive to a report of a custody dispute. It was reported that the father who had the children was intoxicated and not taking care of the children. Deputies performed a standby while the mother took custody of the children.

February 17, 2022

Deputies responded to Buena Vista Road to a report of breaking and entering. It was reported that several items were stolen off of the victim’s work vehicle. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The incident remains under investigation.

February 18, 2022

Deputies responded to Deible Road to a report of breaking and entering. It was reported that items were stolen from the victim’s shed. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The incident remains under investigation.

A victim came into the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of identity fraud. It was reported that the victim was asked to get gift cards and send them to the suspect. The suspect claimed to be with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was trying to defraud the victim via their social security number.

Deputies responded to Main Street in Murray City to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a verbal altercation occurred and threats were made. A male subject was arrested and transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.
