North confirmed that deputies responded to a call for service shortly before 9:00 pm on February 1st, encountering the scene of a suspected burglary and subsequent gunfire.

Thanks to the swift intervention of Hocking County EMS, Laurelville Volunteer Fire Department, and Med Flight/Air Evac, both individuals received immediate medical attention and were airlifted to the Columbus trauma center.
