Gov. Dewine Orders Half Staff Flags for Nelsonville Firefighter who Died in Line of Duty

NELSONVILLE – Governor Dewine has ordered that flags be flown at half staff after a Ohio Firefighter who died Sunday evening

The Nelsonville Division of Fire is mourning the death of one of our own. Nelsonville senior firefighter, Jeff Armes, collapsed and died at the scene of a structure fire Sunday, May 2, 2021.

He was taken to Ohiohealth hospital where he passed.

Dewines orders are requested for private flags, but ordered for all public building and grounds throughout Athens county, Ohio State house and others in Ohio.

Flags are ordered to be lowered until the day of his funeral. More information below.
