NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — GEODIS, a leading global logistics provider, is gearing up for the holiday season with plans to hire approximately 130 seasonal workers in the Ashville, Ohio area. The hiring initiative aims to bolster the company’s operational capacities in its warehouses and distribution centers, addressing the anticipated rise in consumer demand during the peak season.
According to Emarketer, U.S. holiday sales saw a 3.9% increase in 2023, reflecting continued growth despite economic uncertainties. For 2024, Emarketer projects a robust 4.8% rise in holiday retail sales, further fueling the need for expanded workforce support.
To meet this surge in demand, GEODIS is looking for seasonal material handlers and equipment operators across 13 regions in the U.S. and Canada, including Ashville. The company offers competitive wages, peak premium pay incentives, and both peak and referral bonuses. Workers can also benefit from an expedited payment option, receiving up to 50% of their paycheck before payday through an on-demand program.
The available positions include both part-time (under 30 hours a week) and full-time (over 30 hours a week) roles, with flexible schedules, weekend opportunities, and multiple shift options to accommodate various lifestyles. Prospective employees can utilize GEODIS’ virtual recruiting assistant, Sophie, to navigate the application process and connect with recruiters efficiently.
Anthony Jordan, GEODIS’ Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Americas, emphasized the importance of expanding the workforce during this critical period. “Peak season is the most business-critical sales period of the year for many of our retail clients,” Jordan said. “Expanding our workforce is vital to ensure we have a flexible, dynamic team that can handle anticipated surges in demand.”
GEODIS prides itself on a supportive work environment, prioritizing teammate safety and offering modern facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The company invests in its employees with paid safety-focused training, helping them gain hands-on experience from day one.
“We are committed to creating a diverse and supportive work environment where employee well-being is our top priority,” Jordan added. “Whether you’re seeking extra income for the holidays or exploring a long-term career with GEODIS, our team members have the opportunity to make a difference and advance their careers.”
