Free Kids Fishing Tournament Prizes Awarded

CIRCLEVILLE – Carl Dickey has been doing some special for the people of Pickaway county for some years now.  On his own he holds five catfish tournaments a year with 50/50 prize draws at Hargus Lake.  What he does with that split of money every year is what is special.  “The money he creates goes back into the park, he buys prizes for the kids free fishing derby that is this weekend, he also hosts the fathers day event during the fathers day weekend.  He doesn’t really care about the recognition its about the park and the kids to him.  He bought us a battery and motor for the boat rail here last year, he just showed up and gave it to us, he’s a good guy and a great guy to have around,” said Greg Huffer park resource.

This weekend A.W.MARION STATE PARK MARINA Hargus Lake will host the 4th annual free with prizes fishing tournament on June 9th for kids 15 and under.  Registration is from 11 am to 12 pm, and the tournament will run from 12 to 2 pm.  Prizes will be awarded for the most fish caught and the largest fish.  You must prod your own fishing pole and bait.  After the tournament free hot dogs, chips and drinks for the kids.
