Flood Warning for Ross County, Moderate Flooding Expected in Circleville

SOUTHERN OHIO – The Southern Ohio region along the Scioto river will experience flooding the next few days as rain waters from the the North come south through our area.


According to the water data from USGS.gov flooding will continue until Sunday along the Scioto river then start to subside. According to the graph waters are already above flood stage at 16.17 feet having minor flooding at this time. That will rise to over 20 feet by around 1 pm on Saturday where we will receive moderate flooding.

You will see some closures of roads where normal water rises, currently Canal road is closed. We may see island road close also and any other flooding area.

With flooding in Ross City of Chillicothe has had a park closure.

” We have closed the red farm gates on the floodwall bike path under the railroad tressle as the walking path is beginning to flood. If you encounter flooding, please turn around and find an alternate route. Never allow children to play in or around flood waters, said Chillicothe City.

Please remember to not drive through standing water on the roadways its better to turn around and not attempt it.
