Circleville

Last week, employees at Shears Barber Shop in Circleville, posted to their friends asking for help in collecting items to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Their goal was to be able to fill a few boxes to donate to The Red Cross.

Within a matter of hours they had a semi truck donated to deliver the goods, free of charge, with a challenge to fill the semi. The community’s response has been overwhelming. Donations of canned goods, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, diapers, formula, even coloring books, crayons and children’s card games have been pouring into the shop. The Nazarene Church on Walnut Creek Pike, as well as PCS on Rt. 22 West, have also been drop off points for this donation drive.

On Friday, September 8th, all three locations will combine their donations into a semi truck located in the parking lot of Haven House on Island Road. The community may also continue to make donations from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the semi location or Shears, located at 216 N. Scioto Street. On Saturday morning Shears employees Denise Huff, and Kimi Kroen, along with Kameron Sines and Andy Bowen will leave Circleville and head for their drop-off destination in Houston, Texas.
