Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Assists in Sex Crime Warrent Arrest of Suspect from Oregon

Lancaster, Ohio – May 2, 2024: The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office successfully located and apprehended a suspect with an active warrant issued by the Dallas Police Department in Oregon on May 2, 2024.

On May 1, 2024, the Dallas Police Department (D.P.D.) contacted the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, sharing crucial information regarding a suspect, Philip Mancuso, aged 36, believed to be operating as a self-proclaimed handyman in the area. The D.P.D. informed that Mancuso was wanted on a full extradition warrant for charges including sodomy (4 counts), sex abuse (3 counts), and incest (1 count).

Acting swiftly on this information, on May 2, 2024, authorities located Mancuso at the Lancaster Campground, where he was staying with his current girlfriend and two minor children. Without any resistance, Mancuso was apprehended at his trailer and subsequently transported to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Jail, where he will remain in custody pending extradition back to Oregon.

Sheriff Lape expressed gratitude to the various units within the Sheriff’s Office, including the detective bureau, directed patrol units, SWAT team, and the South-Central Ohio Major Crimes Unit, for their coordinated efforts in the successful apprehension of Mancuso. Additionally, Sheriff Lape acknowledged the assistance provided by the Dallas Police Department in Oregon, whose cooperation and information proved instrumental in locating Mancuso.
