Fairfield County – Man with Gun Arrested after 3 Hour Stand Off

Fairfield – A Lancaster man was arrested after a domestic violence situation involving a gun occurred.

According to police on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 2:51 pm, the Lancaster Police Department was notified of a domestic dispute that occurred at 531 N. Ohio Ave. The victim stated Kenny Doolittle, age 61 of Lancaster, pointed a firearm at her and threatened her life.

Officers responded to the residence and contacted Doolittle who confirmed he had a firearm and advised he would not come out peacefully. Lancaster Police Department Special Response Team (SRT) and Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) responded to the scene and communicated with Doolittle. After a three-hour standoff, Doolittle was placed into custody and transported for medical evaluation. A search warrant was executed at the address where a firearm with a loaded magazine was located and seized.

Doolittle was charged with the following crimes: one (1) count of domestic violence, one (1) count of assault, one (1) count of domestic violence threats, and two (2) counts of aggravated menacing.
